Day 21 West - 01/22/22 - At Sea to Puntarenas

As is normal for sea days, my morning started with attending the coffee chat which featured Amanda who is from Seattle.  She trained as a dancer but is now the entertainment director on this ship which she joined 1/2/22 when we did.  After that I had breakfast and spent the remainder of the day catching up writing my blog with a break for lunch and a wine tasting of Pacific NW wines.  At the tasting, we were joined by Diana whom we have cruised with previously.  It was a fun time chatting with her and comparing our reactions to the wines.  She liked the dryer white wine while we liked the sweeter Mt. St. Michelle Reisling.

Tonight I received a reward for all the one finger keystrokes on an iPhone doing these posts. It unfolded like this.

At the last minute we decided to eat in the Main Dining Room for Gala Night as escargot was on the menu.  We showed up shortly after 5:15pm and were seated at a table for two.  A short while later a couple was seated at the next table for two.  We enjoyed a pleasant chat about cruising and a number of topics.  As they were getting ready to leave, she asked if I was Btimmer which is my screen name on a cruising website I participate in.  I said yes, and she got very excited and expressed her appreciation for what I've written.  She further excitedly exclaimed twice, "You made my day.  I got to meet you." And as she left, she kept telling her husband that my posts were the ones she read to prepare for their cruise.

Thanks Cindy & Doug.  You made my day as well.

We then watched the BBC Deep Blue II which is accompanied by the four string artists from the Lincoln Center stage.  Our evening ended with watching the SF Giants beat the GB Packers 13-10 in a frigid and snowy Lambo Field .
